"What is Respect?"

Respect is ...
Respect is like a golden waterfall blowing the manners out. It feels like polite, kind, caring and considerate.
It sounds like pretty flowing voices in my ears. I use my manners everywhere like please and thank you, pardon me and good words too.
Phoebe

Respect means to me is when I show very good manners, by saying thank you and please or by being a good friend.
I can share my manners here and there, and probably everywhere. They flash out of my mouth as calm as the bright blue sea.

Our Great School Auction and Gala

Wow! On Sunday 27th of March 2011 it was the great Brightwater School Auction and Gala. There were so many tings to do!
Up the back there was a bouncy slide, Mechanical bull and this bungy rope thing that was made out of black tyre tubes that were tied together. I saw some of my friends there. Lucy and Milly where watching me when I went on the terrifying Mechanical Bull. When I first went on it I was literally shaking, BOOM, then it started moving up and down, up and down. It was like a real bull but much slower.
Then I went on the black bungy rope! It was much easier than the Mechanical bull. What you had to do is, you had to get inside the hoop on the bungy rope. Second you had to get a run up from the goal post and at the end there was a cone with a fizzy drink on the top. You had to knock down the fizzy drink three times. I got them down three times and I won an ami drink bottle.
After I went to the candyfloss and lucky dip stand and I bought one bag of candyfloss and two lucky dips. The candyfloss was as puffy as a cloud. In the lucky dip there was a lolly pop, lolly bracelet , one silly band and tattoos.
It was the best day ever.

The Gigantic Pool

On Monday 7th of March Brightwater Middle Syndicate went to the big, deep, Wakefield School pool. People could race or have a teriffic fun time. The pool was gigantic and enormous. We did cool backstroke and fast freestyle.
Mostly everyone did three great things. Seniors and good swimmers went at 9.00 sharp and the Middles went straight after morning tea. It was tiring and breathtaking. Some people struggled and were nervous. We did starfish and had fantastic free time. It was a great time. Charlie

Class Pool Party

On Friday Room 5 had a pool party for our class treat at the school pool. We could bring along blow up toys, lilos, water guns and balls. Ellie T brought along a huge air bed to play on. It was a bit cold but we got used to it after a while. Some people got out early to get dressed. The pool was stuffed with toys! We had 30 minutes for our pool party. I played with my friends.
Everyone had a great time when we had our pool party!

National Red and Black Day

Today the whole country is dressing up in red and black because of the deadly quake that hit Christchurch last Tuesday. People are giving a coin donation at supermarkets and schools, and all of the money is going to the Red Cross and to the Christchurch residents for food and water. Civil defense base grounds are all around the Christchurch district helping people.
Room 5 are all dressed up in red and black for Canterbury and we donated $68.60.
