River Crossing

On the 21st of March the Middle Syndicate went to the Wai-iti River to learn River Safety. R5 was the first class to cross the river, it was awesome. We went in groups of four and had to hold onto each other. Next we went to sketch the river. Our class did not have much time but it was still good fun. Then we went to bug hunting and we found a dead eel that looked like something had bitten its throat. The final activity for our class was boat building. My team was the 2nd to last group to let their boat take off.
When we walked back to school everyone was tired.

Water Safety

Yesterday Room 5, 6, 7 and 8 went to the Wakefield School to float with life-jackets, bottles, Kick boards, tubes, buckets and balls. We all went with adults to Wakefield School and they watched us in the pool. After, we had five minutes free time and we could jump off the edge of the pool, it was fun.
We had heaps of adults at three stations, one station was the life jackets and my mum was at the board station. The other one was the buckets and bottles.
We had lots and lots of fun and there was lots of people at the pool.

Fun Aquatic Centre!!!

WOW WHAT A BIG DAY! Room 5 went to the Aquatic Centre on an awesome bus on the way to Richmond. When we got there we went to the changing rooms to get into our togs and bring our bags out too. Then we have free time in the Wave Pool and Lazy River, and it was HUGE FUN.
When the whistle went it was time for Room 5 learning time. When we got in the pool we had to get in safely. When Room 5 got in it was huge warm like a warm sauna. Our teachers taught us to kick, float really well and have a stream-line body. Then we got out and it was huge cold! and we had to get our bags with all our stuff. When we got in the bus we had to wait for others.
Room 5 drove back to school and also some of Room 5 said it was good fun.

Slippery Slide

On Thursday, we had a surprise heading for us. All the teachers gave us, was a notice saying to bring a jersey if we get cold, and told us that we wouldn't be in the pool. Well, maybe a quick dip. When we arrived at school at maths time we heard Mrs. Roberts say "Oh what's Pete doing, I think he might be putting up the water slide".
"That was my guess," Talia said. It was finally Room 5's turn. I had a quick dip in the school pool. There was a big queue at the water slide. I had to wait a long time but it still didn't stop me. I was freezing!!!!!! After 4 turns I went to get dressed. It was the best day ever.
