Football!

Yesterday we went to football and George showed us how to dribble the ball. Then we played Earthquake and you had to dribble to a house before anyone else. Next, we played a game of football and my team was orange. It was lots of fun.

The poppy  in the battlefield, never forget them.
Amazing people who fought in the Great War.

New Zealand helped out Britain.

Zipping up our sweat-shirts for the parade.

Australia helped New Zealand which made the ANZACs.

Cannons firing at parades.

Deep in our hearts, we thank them.

ANZACs are our heroes.

Yawning people at  Dawn parades.

Great Grandad's medals

These are my great grandads medals. He got them for fighting in  World War 2. The silver one is for being brave.  I'm not sure what the gold one is for. He got gassed in the war. But he did not die. His name is Gordan Kelly. He won three medals 2 gold 1 silver. He died of old age before I was born. He went to the war when he was 18 and there is a photo of him when he was 21 in his soldier uniform.

Helicopter Open Day

On Sunday Nadine's family went to the Helicopter Open Day because her mum was working for St Johns. Nadine won a helicopter ride because she was dressed up in her St John uniform. The ride felt like she was going upside down and she could see  everything really well on the ground. It was her first ride in an awesome helicopter.

Last Day of Term 1

What a cool afternoon! We had a Wheels Day Class Treat and some children brought bikes while others had their scooters. If you didn't bring anything, other children shared theirs or you could have free-time in the classroom. It was really exciting racing around the back of the classrooms and along the bush track on our bikes. We all had to go the same way so that we didn't crash into each other! The scooters and their riders flew over the concrete and up and down the hill. Luca even did a jump with his scooter off the deck which was amazing to watch.
It was a great end to the term and we had popcorn and Eater Eggs too.

Wicked Assembly

Soon it was our Assembly. I was very excited. We were doing it with Room 4.
It took the classes a bit longer to get to the assembly than we thought so we could not do the poems. After a wee while it was coming to the end. Room 4 and 5 showed paintings, did the Pukeko Dance, demonstrated the Water Cycle and sung the Individually Song.
My dad was taking a video and that night and I watched it. I laughed because I hate listening to me talking. My dad and mum were very proud of me.

Rippa Rugby

Today after morning tea Room 5 headed over to the grassy field. We met Andrew and we each collected a black belt. Our class was put into teams of red, blue, black and white tags. Red and blue ran fast onto the tickly grass. Red rapidly ran towards blue, we charged towards them. Matthew dived to the ground he scored a try. Black and red scattered onto the field. Luca ran with the round egg ball in his hand. He scored a try. Blue ran onto the field. Blue had scored a try!!! blue got 4 and Red got 2 scores, Black scored 2 points. Andrew gave us some posters of Sonny Williams and of the Markos. It was great fun.
