Tahuna Beach kitten

On Saturday morning we were on our way to the hydro slide. The hydro slide wasn't open so we went to the cafe and Tyrone asked if we could go down to the beach. Half way down the track Tyrone saw a little fluff ball lying on its side and it meowed, then I knew it was a Kitten. We took it back to mum and she took it to the cafe. They said it was wild but no way it was wild because if it was wild it would hiss even if it was a Kitten . So we kept it. When mum went to get milk from the cafe they charged mum 50 cents for it. I named it Pringle and he came to school for show and tell.

Wheels Day

It's Monday and we got 10 marbles in the jar.
Mrs Roberts said that we can have a vote of what we are going to do
for our class treat. We had a vote and we thought that we were going to have a wheels and pyjama day.
I was counting down the days but finally it was the day of our class treat. I wore my stripped pj pants and my pink pj top. After lunch we got all our equipment, I brought my red roller blades.
Many people brought bikes, scooters, skate boards, and roller blades. Many girls wore their
pj's that day. We all had a great time racing around the grass and hard court area, and dodging so we didn't crash into each other!

Swimming Sports

On Thursday the 12 of March Rooms 5, 6 and 7 went on an exciting trip to Wakefield
for the swimming sports. Appleby, Ranzau, Hope and Wakefield Schools came to it.
There was a lot of different swimming which included breaststroke, backstroke, freestyle, kickboard, noodle relay, torpedo, starfish and some people were doing lengths. The pool is much warmer than our school pool. It is an indoor pool.
At morning tea time, we got to have a little play on the Wakefield School play ground. Most children went back to school at morning tea time because they weren't swimming lengths. The lengths were for freestyle, backstroke, breathstroke and relays. It was a very long way for the length swimmers but they all tried very to get to the end without stopping! We all had an awesome time and loved our Mums and Dads cheering us on.

Praying Mantis invade Room 5!

Hunter and Benjamin gave us a very interesting talk about the South African Praying Mantises that they have found. They had babies ones and a female Praying Mantis that was pregnant. The boys described the difference between their ones and the common New Zealand Praying Mantis. Hunter was also able to show us information from his very good book on insects. Thank you Benjamin and Hunter for sharing your discoveries with us and you look cool in the photo!

World Maths Day

It has been awesome to be a part of the World Maths Day. We have had lots of fun and have become a lot faster with our basic facts. Another great thing has been playing against children from all around the world and looking to see where they live, on the world map.
